+ The hotel was renovated in 1903 and became a luxury hotel boasting of a rooftop garden, ballroom, Italian tile floors, marble walls, a stained glass skylight and carved oak woodwork. It still retains much of the original woodwork, brass fixtures and furniture today.

+ Because of it’s historic décor the hotel has been used to film scenes for two movies that were shot in the area.

Reported Findings and Experiences:

+ 42 orbs were captured on the 7^th floor while Joyce and Misty were doing their readings.

+ 1 very bright orb was captured on the 2^nd floor near where a murder occurred several years ago. (You can even here the "swoosh" of the orb as it sails down toward the camera).  See VIDEO

+ Over 50 orbs were captured when the camera was left running as MPR retired for the night in their room on the 5^th floor. During the video the sound of a door opening could be heard but no movement was detected on video. An interesting observation was that the team members seem to be disturbed during their sleep whenever a mass of orbs appeared near them on the video.

+ A photograph taken in MPR’s overnight room on the 5^th floor, shows an unidentified brownish mist on the hide-away bed. It gives the impression that an entity was sitting on the bed as it was being prepared for sleeping. There seems to be an indentation on the bed in which no team member had sat during this preparation. See Photo below.

+ Another photograph taken in MPR’s overnight room is of a massive orb in motion shortly after the team arrived. See Photo below.

+ On the 6^th floor in a vacant, unfinished room, the water in the bathtub was found running.

+ The hotel is heated by a central modern heating system. On the 7^th floor, the old heat registers still remain but have been capped off since renovations began in the 1960’s. They are not suppose to be working. Soon after we entered the 7^th floor, the heat registers started sputtering and were blowing either hot or cool steam. There was no explanation for this. Upon examining the heat registers, it was found that even the water pipes had been disconnected from them, yet moisture from the steam was prevalent on the walls.

+ Three EVPs were recorded during our visit. One was captured on the 7^th floor while Joyce was talking to a female ghost named Cora who was a madame of several "Ladies of the Night" who resided on the top floor. While Joyce was describing the clientele, the female ghost said, "IT WAS UP-SCALE" - you can hear "up-scale" under Joyce's voice as she is saying "ladies of the night". The 2^nd EVP was recorded on the 2^nd floor. It was the voice of a woman who said, "BRANDY".  The 3rd EVP was recorded in our 5th floor room while we were sleeping.  It was the voice of a man saying "THEY TALKED OF FEAR".

+ In the 1920’s there was some bootlegging going on in the hotel

+ There is a lady who walks the hallway on the 5^th floor

+ There are spirits and ghosts everywhere, they are just everywhere

+ A building that used to be by the hotel, burned and there were some deaths. Some of those spirits come over here because of the activity. The burned building was confirmed by an anonymous person who knows the hotel history.

+ A man walks around the halls and pats the females on the rump.

+ One of the women who walks the hallway is named Jolene.

+ There was a fire in the building in 1909 or 1910.

+ The rooms up here were at one time beautiful. There was a 2- room apartment where card games were played. Harry Truman played cards up here.

+ A room was set up for a girl in a wicker wheelchair in the early 1900’s. She was very well dressed.

+ A body of a man was found in one of the bathrooms on the 7^th floor in either 1942 or 1951. He worked for the railroad and his name was Walter Hyatt or Hoyt. He was either stabbed in the heart or died of a heart attack.

+ A young girl roams the halls up here.

+ There is laughter and music. This floor was a very busy place with lots of activity. People come in and out and in and out.

+ Somebody hung themselves in one of the back rooms. It was a female. She said, "Sshh, don’t tell anyone."

+ These back rooms were for women of ill repute. A woman named Cora was like a Madame for several of these ladies of the night. This was a place for the upper-class gentlemen to come. An EVP was recorded during this reading of a female voice saying, "IT WAS UP-SCALE".

+ A prostitute named Ida lived in one of the rooms. She was engaged to a man named John who was killed in WWII. She says it’s 1944. She took up her profession after he was killed. She had red hair and shows me her fingernails. She says, "See my bed, this is where I stay." She died of a social disease. She gives her last name as Jones but it’s not really Jones.

+ Somebody was killed here in 1952

+ A man who drags his leg walks down this hall

+ There is an uncomfortable feeling in this hall

+ Joyce said that someone patted her on the back in this hallway

Misty's Readings

+ There were Mafia connections to this hotel. The hotel was frequented by these men and they had many dealings here. Misty named several names of men who were known to associate with the Mafia but we have chosen not to disclose those names.

+ Some bodies are buried beneath the dirt floor that is in the basement. There were several beatings that occurred down there.

+ There is a woman who walks the hallways.

+ There were games played on this floor. Two of the rooms were used for gambling.

+ Two girls shared one of the rooms up here. They were sisters. One of them was named Ida Elaine.

+ The rooms behind the elevator was used by the servants as a sitting room.

+ A very angry female ghost roams this hallway.

+ There is bad energy in this hallway, it does not feel good.

+ Someone was killed on the other side of that red door. See Photo below

We were limited to the locations in which readings could be done during this investigation. Both psychics felt many, many spirits roamed the hotel and were very drained after the investigation.

Photo of one of the heat registers that have been capped off since the 1960's - the water had also been shut off from these registers around the same time - upon entering the 7th floor, the heat registers came on, spewing cold, moist steam, whereas the registers themselves were very hot to the touch - this photo shows the condensation wear on the wall and upon examination, the wall was damp and moist to the touch - there are no natural resources currently being supplied to the 7th floor

Orbs captured in front of the door on the 2nd floor in which Misty states someone was killed on the other side of this door - Misty and Joyce both stated that this hallway was either uncomfortable or had bad energy - this door is just down from where the orb was captured on VIDEO - an EVP was also captured on this floor of a female voice saying "BRANDY"

What appears to be an entity captured on the hide-away bed - there is an impression on the bed as if the entity is sitting on the bed as it is being prepared for sleeping - Brenda reported that she had an uneasy feeling when attempting to sleep on the bed, and ended up sleeping on the floor instead - Taken with an Olympus D-360L digital camera by Dee Ann.
