Brief
Property Description: 3 Story brick building built in 1889 as a school. It was later converted into a hospital in the early 1900’s and then became the Whatsoever Community Center in 1941. It is well remembered by residents for its boxing club. The original boxing ring still exists in the basement of the building and an additional boxing ring has been added. The upstairs consist mostly of office space and class rooms. Today the building is used to provide programming for Early Childhood, Youth Services, Community Assistance and Senior Services. |

Findings and Experiences: +
While doing our
initial walk through with the owner of the building, upon entering the
basement, the boxing bags were swinging quite rapidly as if they had just
been pushed. We tried to recreate this by stomping on the floor and
were
able to rule out vibration from above. No one had been in the basement
prior to our walk through. +
There was an
unidentified noise while Misty was giving her reading concerning Mr. Brook
as we entered the office. Shortly after this, Misty said that he left thru
the wall. About this time, the daughter-in-law of the reporter experienced
a burst of emotions as she was waiting outside the office area. She said
she became very dizzy and felt very sad all of the sudden. She had to
leave the building to regain her composure. +
Several people present reported seeing a shadowy figure walk in front of
the bookcase on the 2nd floor. +
Chris took a photo in the attic which contained an unidentifiable black
shadow. +
While in the basement, reporter Dale Castle, reported hearing someone
whisper his name in her ear. + 8 orbs were filmed on video in the hallway of the 2nd floor. The majority of these orbs were filmed when Jeff and Chris were conducting an EVP session at the time. Although no EVPs were recorded, the activity did seem to pick up. |
|
We were unable to identify this black shadow in the attic that is seen on the left of the photo. |
Chris took this picture as he was descending the attic stairway where Misty felt the two drowned boys often played. |

Psychic
+There
are some children upstairs. There is a little girl named Barbara Jean. She
is from the hospital that was here. She says there is a baby here and she
has a friend named Mr. Brook. +
Mr. Brook is here too. He’s an older gentleman. He wants to be called
Mr. Brook. He’s just gone back to the office area.
At this time the team went into the office
area and upon doing so heard a noise
that sounded like something being bumped. Mr.
Brook either dedicated something here or donated some money. He’s not
real happy with the condition of the building but knows that you’re
trying to get things fixed. The owner of the
building found a plaque of donors which listed the name of Fred Brooks. +
There are two little boys that come in and out. They drowned in a creek
nearby and were around the ages of 9 to 11. I’m getting the year 1968.
They roam the area but come here because of the kids energy. Reporter
Dale Castle found out through an interview with a long time resident that
two boys from the neighborhood, drowned in the Blue River on May 26, 1928.
S. J. was 9 years old at the time of his death and B. M. was 6 years old. The boys had gone swimming after attending mass. The Blue
River is located within 5 blocks of the neighborhood. + I’m picking up on older man in the basement. I don’t know what this means but I’m getting the words “Joke Cracker.” He says you’ll be able to find something in the written history. He could have been a boxer at one time. Could be Joe Cracker or Joe Cocker or something like that.

MPR
SUMMARY: We
did not capture much evidence at this investigation besides a few
photographs of possible orbs and the unexplained black shadow. Most of the
evidence occurred as experiences by those present. Misty feels that the
building is haunted by a man named Mr. Brooks and 3 children. We were very
surprised not to have captured any EVPs on this investigation as other
teams have been very successful in doing so.
We feel that the information supplied to us by reporter, Dale Castle about the drowning of the two boys was very instrumental in confirming Misty’s reading concerning their presence.
We’d like to thank the Whatsoever Staff for allowing us access to the building and reporter, Dale Castle for making the arrangements. Thank you all very much. |
